David Stofenmacher: Chancellor’s Speech at Virtual Graduation Ceremony Asia Class 2024

Virtual-Graduation-Ceremony

On August 10th, we celebrated the achievements of our first graduates in Asia during the Virtual Graduation Ceremony. This event will undoubtedly be remembered by everyone who joined the broadcast, as it was filled with emotions and congratulations

For this special occasion, our Chancellor, David Stofenmacher, delivered an inspiring speech to honor our graduates from the Philippines, Indonesia, India, and Vietnam, marking a significant moment in the history of our university.

Chancellor’s Speech

Dear graduate teachers and families, today we gather for a momentous celebration to honor the first Utel graduates in Asia. This marks a significant milestone in our life and the history of our university, filling us with great pride and emotion.

A few years ago, we embarked on this journey with a firm belief that education knows no border, that students from the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Vietnam and many other countries could study together and learn from each other.

We believe our innovative learning model could spark a sense of brotherhood and community, and the talent and dedication of our Asian students deserve to be recognized with the same excellence and commitment as any student of the university in the Americas.

We wanted to make a difference in Asia because we sense the need for affordable quality education that could uplift individuals, motivate them to seek broader horizons and build their confidence.

We understood that many of you have other responsibilities, whether as parents, working adults, or enthusiastic young people eager to change the world. We knew you needed a different way of learning, and we needed a different way of teaching, one with flexibility and structure, leveraging the internet to provide knowledge beyond what a single person could offer.

Working as a team from distance places, we aim to foster a self-driven approach to learning and personal growth. Our goal was to offer relevant education in Asia, with success measured by the achievement of our graduates.

We wanted to give your knowledge, skill, and most importantly, a master key. Not just the key, but one that opens all the doors you can imagine. A key that lets you choose your path, pursue your life, your ambition, and unlock the true potential you have in your inner self. A key that opens the door you dream of and enables you to make them a reality.

Today we celebrate the culmination of this journey. You, our graduates, young people, adults, ladies, gentlemen, parents, grandparents, are our inspiration. You make us proud, and we see the support of your family, the effort you have put in, and the trust you have placed in us.

As you receive your degree, remember that they are not just certificates, but keys to your future. Dear graduates, time has come to use this scheme wisely. Transform adversity into opportunity, uncertainty into a chance to create your future. Reinvent yourself as often as necessary. Embrace improvisation and your intuition, and prioritize always kindness over intelligence and success.

Be an example for the more than 150,000 Utel students and graduates around the world, a global community that you are now part of and forever. We, your families, teachers, and all the staff at Utel University will continue to support and admire you.

Our community constantly seeks people who inspire, challenge, and change life. You are those people, and you have already made an impact on ours. Thank you very much for studying in Utel.

These were the words of our Chancellor, offering an inspiring message to all the unstoppable graduates who are now stepping into a world full of opportunities and new horizons.
